Sunbounce Zebra Fabric Screen

Gently warm, creates a healthy skin complexion even if cloud cover is thick. Zebra is the workhorse for more than 50% of all applications in sunny and shady conditions.
Color: Mix of Gold and Silver. The back is White Neutral.

The structure of the Zebra material is a uniform zig-zag pattern. The parallel zig-zag lines are 50% gold and 50% silver. They reflect equally well and the combination creates reflection that is about 400 Kelvin warmer. Do not confuse this with pure Gold without a neutral color blended in. Pure Gold should be used only when heavy cloud cover in a winter sky lets through just the blue parts of sunlight.

Gently warm, creates a super healthy skin complexion. The reflection appears very hard and the light can be transported over large distances. Front: minus ca. 650 Kelvin. Back: minus ca. 400 Kelvin.

This material does not change the colour temperature but transmits the incoming light in a neutral manner. Hard light remains hard, soft light remains soft. Good light scoop.

Gently warm, creates a golden skin complexion. In thick cloud cover, it reduces the blue part of the light and creates a warm skin complexion.

Gold should be used only as a last resort, when heavy cloud cover in a winter sky lets through just the blue parts of sunlight and the color is to be matched at specific points (in regard to the model). In sunshine Gold produces a buttercup effect: It makes skin appear golden. Good for those who like effects.

The Natural White material creates a very natural light either as main light source, to reflect the sun or a spotlight onto the models or actors, or as a brightener for the part of the set opposite the sun. Its warm off-white colour is very skin-friendly and models and actors find it easy on the eyes.

The negative reflector absorbs the light like thick, black velvet. But it is much lighter than velvet and elastic. Good for light reduction.

Color: Black deep matte and strongly light absorbing. The back is black matte. Black Hole Fabric Screen When the available light plays havoc with your plans and you need to emphasize structures, the overall light quantity can be increased with additional lamps – or you can use the “negative lighting” trick, which eliminates light. True art with the simplest means. Just use the amazing Black-Hole material, named after an imploded star: It does not let any light out.

LE-LOUCHE (051-LL)

The two-ply carrier materials structures by adding e.g. leaves, shadow/light structures, just as you desire. Also for large-scale use in sunlight or with spotlights.

Color: White neutral without optical brightener.

The Sunbounce Le-Louche netting and fabric combination and the way it is processed are unique to the field. Hollywood has been using the so-called cuculoris for many years. It is a sheet of metal with a certain pattern sawed out of it, e.g. to cast a shadow from the spotlight such that it looks like light and shadow would appear under a tree. But the metal panels have a limited size. They are usually no bigger than 100 x 100 cm. With sunlight, the concept works only for small objects. The standardized pattern is defined by the cut-outs, so it can easily be recognized as artificial. A separate cuculoris has to be created for each pattern. The Sunbounce Le-Louche system for structured shadows applies a completely different concept and meets just about any requirements.

Sunbounce’s Le-Louche system allows you to create unique combinations of light and shadow – even with different focal planes.

The Sunbounce Le-Louche system consists of a two-layer shell made of special, very fine yet sturdy mesh (absorbs only about 1/3 of the light through the aperture per layer). The shell can hold all kinds of materials used to create effects, like leaves, bits of paper or fabric, and thin cloth. Nothing blows away or slips out of place. Large openings along the edge allow you to easily reach in and arrange the items to create the structured light that you want. The different levels of the shell and the filling (including 3D items) result in a completely natural light-shadow transition without sharp edges. For example, you could create the sense of filming under trees in Tuscany. And you can do it on a barren beach or in a studio. The original Le-Louche includes a clear foil with leaves printed on it.

To prevent the arrangements from slipping when wind or other movement occurs, the creation can be secured to the two mesh layers with a commercial tag gun and plastic anchors. You are familiar with these because it is the same thing used to attach the price tag to your new shirt. To change the pattern, just cut the fine fasteners and create a new design. The tag gun and the proper fasteners are available as accessories from SUNBOUNCE.

BOBBINETTE BLACK (343N)

The classic of Hollywood film lighting for reduction and softening of sunlight and spotlights. Also known as CINE-NET, Bobbinette or Bobbinette. Material: Cotton – Warning: air well, only pack in dried condition!

Color: Neutral black

The Bobbinette is a proven classic consisting of innumerable ultra-fine hexagonal holes that reduce and soften the light without changing the color temperature. It is also used in **double or **triple layers. It is available from Sunbounce in any width up to 610 cm / 20 feet. The material is woven into cotton.

**NOTE:

  • If multiple layers are not positioned properly, the result will be an unintentional moiré pattern!
  • Always dry properly to prevent mildew.

The exclusive Sunbounce No Moiré Black is made of an extremely fine (0.5 mm holes) sturdy elastic polyamide fabric, so it dries quickly. The threads are thinner than human hair. In an out-of-focus area it is completely invisible, making it a good choice for darkening a background. It can easily be used as a double layer and is available from Sunbounce in any width up to 610 cm / 20 feet.

Tuscany Leaf Diffuser Fabric

If you want a leaf pattern on your subject, there are two ways to do it: You can position your set under a tree, or you can bring the tree into the studio or onto the barren beach or meadow using the Le-Louche system. The clear foil with leaves printed on it helps you to create structured light. Depending on the desired effect, objects can be in a single layer or in multiple layers, flat or bunched up – such as to create different shadow focal planes.

An adequate supply of the foil for flat applications is included with the Le-Louche Screen. The leaf sheet is an inexpensive accessory that really is a must-have.

WIND-KILLER (OWK)

The Wind-Killer material is a very special material; especially when it comes to getting the wind under control during photo and film shoots.

Color: Neutral black

Wind Killer Photography Fabric

Wind on the set – e.g. during fashion shooting – can be disruptive or even catastrophic. Hair and clothing flutter wildly, making them impossible to capture in an image. Even Steadicam operators have trouble working in the wind. The exclusive Sunbounce WInd-Killer material, which is stretched on the existing Sunbounce Classic 3-D frame just like a normal Sunbounce Screen is the perfect remedy. The grips on the frame and the lightweight design make it easy to maneuver. The material is transparent. So you can see the effect created and adjust as needed.

In the past, wind blockers were plates or impermeable cloths. The disadvantage of this design: The wind caught on the screen has to escape somehow, resulting in undesirable turbulence near the edges, which in turn has a negative impact on the scene.

Sunbounce took a pragmatic approach to solving this issue: It uses a fabric for the WInd-Killer that allows only 25% of the wind to pass through the screen as a gentle, steady breeze. This residual air flow does not hamper fashion shoots. Even the highly sensitive gimbaled suspension of the Steadicam is not disturbed by the steady current.

The bulk of the wind – 75% of the air flow – is diverted to the edges, where it joins the 25% that passes through the fabric and is smoothed out. Many Steadicam operators and fashion photographers around the world are already enjoying the benefits of the unique Sunbounce WInd-Killer.
